California, October 6 (SO News/Agency) The bodies of 4 members of a family of Indian origin who were kidnapped in California, USA, have been recovered. An 8-month-old baby girl is also among the dead. Merced County Sheriff Vern Warneck said that the bodies of the victims were recovered from the same area and that the incident was very gruesome.
The bodies of the abductees who have been recovered include 36-year-old Jasdeep Singh, his wife Jasleen Kaur (27), their eight-month-old daughter Arohi Dheri and a 39-year-old man, Amandeep Singh.
U.S. authorities said the four men were forcibly abducted on Oct. 3 from the 800 block of South Highway 59. Authorities have not named any suspects. According to information, the victim’s family has their own transport business in America and this family is a resident of Harsi village of Tanda, Hoshiarpur district of Punjab.
Earlier, the California police detained a 48-year-old man in this case, who tried to commit suicide and is now in critical condition.
According to a report, detectives received a tip Tuesday morning that the victim’s bank card had been used at an ATM in Atwater, Merced County. Earlier on Monday, California fire officials found Amandeep Singh’s burning truck in a rural area outside Merced. Authorities said there was evidence that the kidnappers tried to destroy the evidence by setting it on fire.
