KARACHI: IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon has said that it is the need of the hour to make the police aware of the contemporary requirements.

Ghulam Nabi Memon while talking to the media at the Ideas Exhibition said that we have formed a technical committee whose responsibility is to select the best weapons to be displayed, there are many things that we think we should buy.

‘SSU is our proud force’

He said that it is the need of the hour to make the police aware of the modern requirements, compiling a list of the weapons we need.

IG Sindh said that SSU is our proud force, it is a pleasure to have SSU stall, the purpose of setting up our stall for the first time is to show what services we are providing.

‘Police are using technology’

Ghulam Nabi Memon said that when the people work together with the police, the feeling of safety develops, the public should be aware that the police is using technology and is moving towards innovation.

IG Sindh further said that the event of Ideas has happened before, we have been performing security duties at every event, it is a national level activity which we carry out as our duty.

Second day of defense exhibition

It should be noted that on the second day of the eleventh edition of the International Defense Exhibition Ideas, a large number of domestic and foreign personalities are coming to the Expo Center.

Yesterday, Chairman People’s Party and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari inaugurated Ideas 2022, the exhibition will continue from November 15 to 18 at the Karachi Expo Center, while security was on high alert in view of the ongoing defense exhibition in Karachi.

In the exhibition, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif could not participate in the ceremony due to Corona, however, in his message, he described Ideas 2022 as a positive process and a welcome initiative for Pakistan’s defense sector and armaments industry.

On this occasion, Chairman People’s Party and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan’s defense is in very strong hands, Pakistan has brought great innovation in defense equipment.

On the first day of the defense exhibition, DG Rangers Sindh Major General Azhar Waqas visited the stalls of modern drones, armored vehicles and other defense weapons and inspected the weapons.

The staff present at the stalls gave a briefing to DG Rangers Sindh Major General Azhar Waqas, more than 500 personnel have been deployed around the Expo Center during the defense exhibition according to the security plan.

On the other hand, a route plan has been prepared by the Karachi Traffic Police in which the roads around the Expo Center have been closed for general traffic due to the VVIP movement and the traffic here has been diverted to alternative routes.
