During the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, the Pakistani team faced many problems due to injuries.
Players like Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Shah Afridi were not medically cleared before the T20 World Cup as they were undergoing rehabilitation to participate in the mega event.
Fakhar Zaman played only one match against Netherlands in the T20 World Cup and appeared to struggle with his form after which he was not cleared for the rest of the matches.
Here the question arises whether the PCB medical panel is aware of the respective injuries of the players, first they are declared fit and then they are declared unfit for the entire tournament.
Former fast bowler of the national team, Aqib Javed, raised questions in this regard and said that does the medical panel have any idea about sports-related injuries?
Aqib Javed says that ‘PCB’s medical panel declared Fakhar Zaman fit but he became unfit after a few overs’.
Shaheen Shah Afridi was fed when he was not fully fit for the World Cup, we need to know if he even knows anything about sports injuries, he added.
It should be noted that Shaheen Shah Afridi was seen battling with his injury in the opening match of the Super 12 stage against India.
Shaheen Afridi suffered another knee injury while taking Harry Brook’s catch in the T20 World Cup final against England, after which he has been ruled out of the home Test series against England.
